Maintenance operations incidents submitted to the Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) between 1986-1992 were systematically analyzed in order to identify issues relevant to human factors and crew coordination.This exploratory analysis involved 95 ASRS reports which represented a wide range of maintenance incidents.

RealWear recently raised $17 million in funding for its HMT-1 AR wearable device, and AR software provider Upskill just picked up $17.2 million in capital support from investors including Accenture, GE Ventures and Boeing HorizonX. GE Aviation, which ran a six-month pilot program last year using Google Glass and Upskill’s Skylight software, found that 60% of mechanics involved in the pilot preferred accessing work procedures via AR compared to the traditional method.
Star Air is an upcoming regional airline in southern India owned by prestigious Ghodawat Group from Jaysingpur Maharashtra. Star Air will be launching its operations with ERJ 145, a 50-seater twin-engine regional jet from Embraer. Aircraft Ground De/Anti Icing procedures serve three purposes: removal of any frozen or semi frozen moisture from critical external surfaces of an aircraft on the ground prior to flight; and/or, protection of those surfaces from the effects of such contaminant for the period between treatment and becoming airborne; and/or, removal of any frozen or semi frozen moisture from engine intakes and fan blades and protection of external surfaces from subsequent contamination prior to takeoff. It should be noted that fan blade ice which may be accumulated after the pre-start visual inspection, including whilst the engines are running at low thrust prior to take off, is removed by following prescribed engine handling procedures.
